All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incident occurred on Tuesday, January 04, 2022:
Traffic Crime –
At approximately 8:04 AM, Deputies conducted a welfare check on a disabled vehicle in the N5600 block of State Highway 69, Town of Washington. It was determined that the vehicle was suffering mechanical issues and was not drivable.
Further investigation resulted in the operator, Maurice D. King Sr., 51 of Monroe, being cited for Operating Without a Valid License, 2nd within Three Years. Maurice was released to a valid driver with a future court date.
Traffic Crash with Injury –
At approximately 12:28 PM, Deputies and Green County EMS responded to the N2900 block of County Highway N, Town of Monroe, for a report of a two-vehicle crash with injury.
Investigation determined that a northbound operator, Dale A. Emberson, 52 of Argyle, slowed down in the roadway to speak to someone. While slowing down, Dale was struck from behind by another northbound operator, Angela A. Arians, 46 of Monroe. Both operators reported wearing their seatbelts and neither vehicle had airbag deployment. Dale reported not being injured and his truck sustained no damage and was driven from the scene. Angela sustained minor injuries and was transported by Monroe EMS to be evaluated. Her vehicle sustained disabling front end damage and was towed from the scene.
Angela was verbally warned for Following too Close and Dale was verbally warned for Impeding Traffic.
Traffic Crash –
At approximately 7:21 PM, Deputies responded to the N4200 block of Benkert Rd., Town of Monroe, for a report of a vehicle in the ditch.
Investigation determined that the operator Austin J. Zettle, 18 of Monroe, failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the ditch where he became stuck. Austin reported wearing his seatbelt and not being injured. The vehicle sustained operational damage and was removed from the ditch and driven from the scene.
