2022 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on June 25, 2022

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

The following incident occurred on Friday, June 24, 2022: 

Traffic Crime –  

At approximately 5:05 PM, Deputies responded to a reported hit and run in the 300 block of E. State St., Village of Albany.  

Investigation resulted in the operator of the offending vehicle, Nicholas R. Kernan, 34 of Albany, being cited for Operating After Revocation due to OWI. Nicholas was released with a future court date. It was also determined that hit and run did not occur.  

OWI Arrest –  

On 06/25/2022 at approximately 2:27 AM, Deputies located a vehicle parked partially in the roadway in the N3100 block of CTH N, Town of Monroe.  

Investigation resulted in the operator, Lee N. Gertsch, 20 of Monroe, being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol - 1st Offense. Lee was transported to the Green County Jail where he was later turned over to a responsible party with a future court date. Lee was also cited for Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Underage Consumption of Alcohol.
