The following incidents occurred on Sunday, May 15th, 2022:
Motor Vehicle Accident- Personal Injury:
At approximately 12:53 PM, Deputies along with New Glarus Police, New Glarus Fire, and New Glarus EMS, responded to the N8700 block of County Highway O, Town of New Glarus, for an unknown motor vehicle crash with reported injuries.
The investigation determined a motorcycle operated by Ricky Aruffo, 61, of Plano (TX) was southbound on County Highway O when he sideswiped a parked motorcycle along the side of the road operated by John D Sweitzer, 56, of Champaign (IL). Aruffo lost control of his motorcycle and struck a chain leading to a driveway.
Sweitzer was not injured and had been wearing a helmet with eye protection. Sweitzer’s motorcycle sustained minor damages. Aruffo sustained injury and was wearing a helmet with eye protection. Aruffo’s motorcycle sustained disabling damages and was removed from the scene.
