On Thursday, March 6 at 9:45 PM a deputy attempted to stop a pickup truck for a speeding violation on State Hwy 69 near Hefty Road in the Town of Washington. The deputy had the truck on radar at 98 MPH in the 55 MPH. The pickup truck failed to stop and lead deputies on a pursuit spanning approximately 12 miles through the Town of New Glarus, Town of Exeter and Town of Brooklyn. Deputies terminated the pursuit in the Town of Brooklyn on State Hwy 92 near Legler Road.
Further investigation resulted in the driver being identified as Bo W. Zantow, 19, of rural Belleville. Zantown was subsequently arrested on March 10, he was transported and booked into the jail on a charge of Knowingly Flee an Officer. Several traffic citations are expected as a result of the pursuit. Zantow is jailed pending a court appearance.
