Project Overview

In February of 2024, the County Board approved the creation of the Facilities Building Committee, which included key members from the Property, Parks, and Insurance Committee, the Highway Committee, and the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, as well as other relevant administrative advisory staff.  This committee began the process to evaluate and prioritize county building projects.  

As a result of the initial action by the committee several steps were taken between February of 2024 and March of 2026 which resulted in approval of the construction of a new Sheriff’s Office and Jail Facility.  This page will provide context for all of the steps taken and provide updates as we move forward with construction until the time of project completion.
