The following incidents occurred on Sunday, March 13th, 2022:
Drug/Narc Violation:
At approximately 5:49 AM, Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the N700 block of State Highway 69, Town of Cadiz, for speeding.
As a result of the traffic stop Elizabeth E Haddad, 23, of Verona was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Haddad’s passenger Lorena Santiago Morales, 23, of Freeport, was cited for possession of 25 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Haddad and Santiago Morales were released with a court date.
Aircraft Crash:
At approximately 12:06 PM, Deputies along with Brodhead PD, Brodhead Fire Department, Monroe EMS, and Wisconsin DNR, responded to the N2600 block of Brodhead Airport Rd, Town of Decatur, for a report of a plane crash.
Investigations determined the pilot, identified as Delbert D Devries, 56, of Browntown and his passenger, identified as John R Musser, 61, of Freeport, were practicing landing techniques when the aircraft, a 1975 Cessna, experienced mechanical troubles. Devries advised he attempted to land the plane when weather and speed conditions caused the plane to go beyond the landing strip. The plane overturned onto its top. Devries claimed no injuries. Musser was transported by EMS for injuries sustained.
The FAA was contacted and notified of the incident. The aircraft was secured.
