The following events occurred on April 11, 2025:

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage
At 6:22 AM, Deputies responded to the N8900 block of CTH J, in the Town of York, for a reported one vehicle crash. The investigation found that the driver, Morgan D. Godfrey, 25, of Argyle, was traveling north on CTH J when she swerved to avoid a pheasant. Godfrey over corrected and entered the west ditch where she struck an embankment and fence before coming to a rest. Godfrey reported that she was wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. Godfrey’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.
Criminal Arrest
At 1:55 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the W2900 block of STH 11, in the Town of Jefferson. The investigation resulted in the driver, Keith C. Popularum, 32, of Marion, IA, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence and Possession of THC with Intent to Deliver. Popularum was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.
Operating While under the Influence
At 8:00 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation in the 1700 block of STH 69, in the City of Monroe. The investigation resulted in the driver, Joel K. Elmer, 44, of Browntown, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence and cited for Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed. Elmer was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.
