Operating While under the Influence

At 10:10 AM, Deputies, along with Albany EMS, Albany FD, and Green County EMS responded to the N6700 block of Norwegian Rd., in the Town of Albany, for a reported single vehicle crash with unknown injuries.  The investigation found that the driver, Justin W. Hartwig, 39, of Albany, was traveling north when the vehicle entered the ditch and then collided with a power pole.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Hartwig was not wearing his seatbelt and was later transported to the Hospital for medical treatment.  The investigation resulted in Hartwig being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence and later released to a responsible party pending court. 

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage
 

At 3:07 PM, Deputies, along with Brodhead PD, Brodhead EMS, Brodhead FD, Green County EMS, and Orfordville EMS responded to the intersection of STH 81 & CTH T, in the Town of Spring Grove for a reported two vehicle crash with unknown injuries.   The investigation found Eugene R. Thompson, 63, of Monroe, was traveling eastbound on STH 81 when a vehicle driven by Richard E. Fluck, 88, of Davis, failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign traveling northbound on CTH T resulting in Thompson’s vehicle colliding with Fluck’s vehicle.  Thompson and Fluck reported that they were wearing their seatbelts and were later transported to the hospital for apparent non-life-threatening injuries.  Thompson’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment and Fluck’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with no airbag deployment.   Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
