The following events occurred on July 28, 2024:

UTV CRASH:

At 7:06 p.m., Deputies along with New Glarus EMS and the Monticello Fire Department responded to the intersection of Marshall Bluff Road and County Highway C, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a UTV crash. Investigation revealed a UTV operated by Kevin D. Beckwith, 47 of Monticello was traveling southbound on County Highway C and turned westbound onto Marshall Bluff Road, when he lost control on the gravel roadway. The UTV the overturned coming to rest on the passenger side. Beckwith and his passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and reported wearing their seatbelts. The passenger was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The UTV sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. The investigation resulted in Beckwith being cited for Operate UTV in a Careless Manner and was released pending court.
