The Green County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46, which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when: in the discretion of the agency, the release of the information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection.  The individual who appears in this notification has been convicted of a sex offense.  Further, his/her criminal history places him/her in a classification level which reflects the potential to re-offend.

This sex offender has served the sentence imposed on him by the courts.  HE IS NOT WANTED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AT THIS TIME.  This notice is not intended to increase fear, rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.

Sex offenders have always lived in our communities, but it was not until Act 440 was enacted that law enforcement is able to share this information with the community.  CITIZEN ABUSE OF THIS INFORMATION TO THREATEN, HARASS OR INTIMIDATE REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Steven H. Cotter will be moving to Green County on/about June 25, 2024.  Mr. Cotter has been convicted of the following acts:  Exposing Genitals to a Child, Possession of Child Pornography and exposing a Child to Harmful Materials in Lafayette County in the State of Wisconsin.   His victims are both juvenile and adult females.

Steven H. Cotter has served his sentence and will be under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and will be further supervised by electronic monitoring.  He must be registered with the Sex Offender Registry.   Cotter will be residing in the W7700 block of Falk Rd. in the Town of Jordan.
