The following events occurred on May 3, 2024:

All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Motor Vehicle Crash-Injury:

At 2:57 p.m., Deputies along with Albany EMS, Albany Fire Department, and Evansville EMS responded to the W300 block of State Highway 59, in the Town of Albany for a car versus tractor crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by John A. Messner, 74 of Albany was traveling westbound when he collided with a tractor attempting to turn into a driveway. The vehicle then entered the north ditch before coming to rest. Messner and his passenger, Sue E. Messner, 71 of Albany sustained injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment. John reported wearing his seatbelt and Sue was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle airbags deployed. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

The tractor was operated by Joseph P. Dunphy, 71 of Albany. Dunphy reported no injuries, and the tractor was not equipped with seatbelts or airbags.

DOMESTIC ABUSE:

At 4:05 p.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the W4200 block of Exeter Crossing Road, in the Town of Exeter, for the report of a physical altercation. Investigation resulted in Linda M. Baker, 74 of Monticello, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Battery both domestic related. Baker was later released pending court.
