Operating While under the Influence
At 2:00 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the W3000 block of STH 11, in the Town of Jefferson. The investigation resulted in the driver, Coty D. Fisher, 31, of Brodhead, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence. Fisher was additionally cited for Speeding (45+ in 55 MPH Zone) and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (greater than .15). Fisher was released pending a future court date.
Drug/Narcotic Violation
At 9:19 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the W3800 block of STH 11, in the Town of Sylvester. The investigation resulted in a passenger, Brooke G. Elders, 20, of Ingelside, being cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Elders was later released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury
At 2:04 PM, Deputies responded to the W2700 block of STH 92, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a reported single vehicle crash. The investigation found that the driver, Derrick P. Nipple, 35, of Belleville, had been driving home the night prior traveling west when he fell asleep, entered the south embankment, struck a culvert, went airborne, then later came to a rest back on the roadway. Nipple advised that he was wearing his seatbelt and sustained apparent minor injuries. Nipple’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with airbag deployment, and was removed from the scene by Nipple. Nipple was later cited for Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Crash to Law Enforcement and Failure to Maintain Control of his vehicle. Nipple was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury
At 10:07 PM, Deputies, along with Albany EMS and Monticello Fire Department, responded to the W3500 block of Oliver Rd., in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a UTV crash with injury. The investigation found that Donald W. Nieman, 31, of Beloit, was traveling eastbound when he failed to negotiate a turn causing the UTV to overturn. Nieman reported that he was not wearing a seatbelt or helmet and was later transported to the hospital via Med Flight. Nieman’s UTV was towed from the scene due to disabling damage. The crash scene was later turned over to the DNR for further investigation.
