The following events occurred on June 8, 2023:
All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
MVA- Property Damage
At 7:44 AM, Deputies responded to the W1100 block of STH 59, in the town of Albany, for a two vehicle crash with no injuries The investigation revealed that a driver identified as Robert E. Edler, 66, of Juda, was operating a semi truck and tanker eastbound on STH 59. Edler attempted to pass a vehicle which was indicating a left-hand turn. He struck the vehicle. Edler was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. There were no airbags to be deployed. The semi unit sustained functional damage on the right side and was driven from the scene. The tanker sustained no damage.
The other driver was identified as Trent R. McCoy, 34, of Evansville. McCoy was traveling east on STH 59 in a piece of farm equipment. He had indicated a left-hand turn when he was struck by Edler. McCoy was not hurt and was not wearing a seatbelt. There were no airbags to be deployed. His 2021 John Deere 400R spreader sustained functional left side damage and was driven from the scene. The lighting on the farm equipment was all working properly. Edler was issued a citation for passing a vehicle indicating a left turn.
MVA- Property Damage
At approximately 7:57 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH P and Honey Creek Rd. in the Town of Clarno for a two-vehicle accident. Investigation found that a vehicle operated by, Jacob R Brennan, 22 of Monroe, was operating south on Honey Creek Rd. when he entered the intersection of Honey Creek Rd and CTH P. The other vehicle operated by, Cameron R Edler, 45 of Browntown, was operating west on CTH P. Brennan entered the intersection and did not see Bader operating west and pulled out in front of Bader, and was stuck on the front driver's side. Brennan’s vehicle suffered disabling damage, and Bader’s vehicle suffered functional damage. All parties were not injured, were wearing their seatbelts, and only Bader’s vehicle had air bags deployed. Brennan was cited for failing to yield right of way.
OWI
At approximately 10:50 PM, Clarence J. Chamberlain, 54, of Belleville, was stopped for operating left of center in the W3100 block of STH 92, in the Town of Exeter. The investigation resulted in Chamberlain being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence (4th Offense) and cited for Operating Left of Center. Chamberlain was transported to Green County Jail, where he was incarcerated pending an initial court appearance.
