All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following incident occurred on Sunday, May 14, 2023:

Motor Vehicle Crash – 

At 11:51 AM, Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 39 and York Valley Rd., Town of York, for a two vehicle crash with no injuries.

After a subsequent investigation, Deputies learned a vehicle occupied by Steven F. Meassick M/W DOB: 10/29/61 (Driver) and Kelly A. McCarthy F/W DOB: 05/09/62 both of Mount Horeb were initially westbound on STH 39 and attempted to turn right (northbound) onto York Valley Rd. 

When Steven attempted to turn right, a second vehicle operated by Samantha G. Ihm F/W DOB: 02/01/04, did not slow down quick enough, swerved to the right (north shoulder) in an attempt to miss the Kelly's vehicle, but struck the passenger side of Kelly's vehicle. Neither vehicle's air bag deployed, no one was injured, and everyone was wearing a seatbelt. Samantha admitted her vehicle's brakes were not very good and the heavy rain played factor.

Kelly's vehicle sustained functional damage to its entire passenger side, but was driven from the scene by Steven. Samantha's vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front end and driver side front. Samantha's vehicle was towed from the scene.
