The following incident occurred on Thursday, August 11, 2022:
OWI Arrest –
At approximately 9:20 PM, Deputies responded to the N4300 block of County Highway N, Town of Monroe, for a single vehicle crash.
The operator, Maria Tepole-Acahua, 23 of Freeport, was driving south when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the west ditch. Maria and her passenger reported wearing their seatbelts and also sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. The vehicle had airbag deployment and sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Maria was subsequently placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol – 1st Offense and was cited for Operating Without a Valid License. Maria was released to a responsible party pending a future court date.
