The following events occurred on January 21, 2026:

Motor Vehicle Crash - Property Damage
At 3:47 AM, Deputies responded to the N2000 block of STH 69, in the Town of Clarno, for a three vehicle crash. The investigation found that Mark J. Topp, 64, of Monroe, was traveling northbound when a southbound vehicle driven by Bayron Y. Caballero Talavera, 44, of Monroe, collided with him head on. Caballero Talavera’s vehicle then collided with another southbound vehicle driven by Naem Khalifawi, 47, of Freeport. All parties reported that they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts at the time of incident. Topp’s and Caballero Talavera’s vehicles sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene. Khalifawi’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene. Caballero Talavera was cited for no insurance, driving a vehicle with expired registration, and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Caballero Talavera was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash - Property Damage
At 7:43 AM, Deputies responded to the N500 block of CTH M, in the Town of Cadiz, for a single vehicle crash. The investigation found that Samantha J. Michael, 32, of Winslow, was traveling southbound attempting to negotiate a curve when she lost control of the vehicle due to snow covered roads. The vehicle entered the south ditch, where it collided with a road sign, an embankment, and then overturned. Michael advised she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of incident and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.

At 5:45 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 69 & STH 81, in the Town of Monroe, for a two vehicle crash. The investigation found that Ernest J. Laeser, 72, of Monticello, and Triniti R. Siedschlag, 21, of Browntown, were traveling westbound when Laeser began to slow down and stop for a stop sign. Siedschlag was unable to fully stop due to snow covered roads and collided with the rear of Laeser’s vehicle. Both parties advised they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts. Both vehicles involved sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and were driven from the scene.

At 5:58 PM, Deputies, along with Monticello Fire Department, responded to the W4100 block of CTH C, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a single vehicle crash. The investigation found that Kylle R. Reigle, 32, of Monroe, was travelling westbound, braking for a curve, when he lost control of the vehicle due to snow covered roads. Reigle then traveled into the north shoulder, where he struck a utility pole, and then came to a rest in the ditch. Reigle advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. Reigle’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.
