Sheriff's Special News Release- Fatal Crash Victim Identified

The Green County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the driver of a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred Friday evening, August 27th, 2021, in the N9300 block of STH 78 in York Township in rural Green County.   Tyler H. Hodgson, age 25, of Blanchardville, WI, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  His name had been withheld pending notification of family.

Investigation revealed that the 2004 Ford F350 pickup was traveling southbound on STH 78 when the vehicle exited the roadway and entered the west gravel shoulder of the roadway.  The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and then entered the east ditch.   The vehicle then went down an embankment and overturned multiple times.  The vehicle then struck a fence and then came to a rest. Hodgson was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Green County Coroner’s Office

The incident is being investigated by the Green County Sheriff’s Office and Green County Coroner. This was Green County’s fifth fatal motor vehicle crash of 2021.
