All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Saturday, September 4, 2021:
OWI Arrest:
At approximately 2:46 a.m., Deputies responded to the N7900 block of Buol Rd in the Town of Exeter for a report of a vehicle versus mailbox crash. It was reported that the vehicle occupants had left the scene on foot. The driver of the vehicle was located nearby and was identified as Andrew J. Nimtz, 22, Monticello, WI. Investigation revealed that Nimtz was traveling northbound when his vehicle entered the east ditch. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and then entered the west ditch, where the vehicle collided with a mailbox. The vehicle was then driven from the scene. The vehicle did not sustain damage and the airbags did not deploy. Nimtz reported that he was not injured in the crash.
Investigation resulted in Nimtz being arrested for Operate While under the Influence (alcohol) 1st Offense. Nimtz was cited for Operate with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, Inattentive Driving, Failure to Keep Vehicle under Control, and Hit and Run to Property Adjacent to a Highway. Nimtz was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
The New Glarus Police Department assisted Deputies at the scene.
Warrant Arrest:
At approximately 4:59 p.m., Green County Deputies responded to the 18000 block of STH 78 in Lafayette County to assist Lafayette County Deputies with an incident. Investigation resulted in Green County Deputies arresting Brandy R. Payne Armendarez, 44, Argyle, WI, for a warrant that was issued for her arrest thought Green County for Failure to Appear in court. Payne Armendarez was incarcerated in the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
