The following incident occurred on Wednesday, September 22, 2021:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 1:00 p.m., Deputies, Green County EMS, and the Monroe Rural Fire Department responded to the intersection of STH 81 and CTH J in the Town of Monroe for a report of a two vehicle crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that Alisson S. Posligua Pinta, 21, Chicago, IL, was traveling southbound on CTH J and approached the intersection with STH 81. Posligua Pinta then stopped at the Stop Sign at the intersection, then proceeded to enter STH 81. At this time, Posligua Pinta’s vehicle collided with a vehicle that was traveling westbound on STH 81. The vehicle traveling on STH 81 was found to be operated by Lori A. Sink, 50, Monroe, WI.
Sink’s vehicle sustained severe damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Sink reported that she was wearing her seatbelt and she sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. Sink was transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room.
Posligua Pinta’s vehicle sustained severe damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Posligua Pinta reported that she was wearing her seatbelt and she was not injured in the crash. An adult passenger in the vehicle reported that they were not injured and that they were wearing their seatbelt.
Posligua Pinta was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign.
The Green County Highway Department assisted at the scene with traffic control.
