The following events occurred on May 13, 2024:

All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Motor Vehicle Crash-Injury:

At 9:34 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of State Highway 69 and County Highway C, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that an Implement of Husbandry was traveling northbound when it attempted to turn westbound onto County Highway C. At the same time a Semi traveling northbound on State Highway 69 attempted to pass and the vehicles collided.

The Implement of Husbandry was operated by Daniel D. Roe, 60 of Monticello. Roe reported wearing his seatbelt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Semi was operated by Mykhailo Ganiuk, 35 of Hoffman Estates. Ganiuk reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and no airbag deployment. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were driven from the scene.
