The following events occurred on January 27, 2024:

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH-PROPERTY DAMAGE:
At 1:30 p.m., Deputies along with Dane County Sheriff’s Office and Brooklyn Fire Department responded to the N9600 block of Union Road, in the Town of Brooklyn for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Steven S. Harvancik, 63 of Brooklyn, was traveling southbound, when he reportedly fell asleep. The vehicle then left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Harvancik and his passengers reported no injuries, were wearing their seatbelts, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Investigation resulted in Harvancik being cited for Fail To Control Vehicle. Harvancik was released pending court.
TRAFFIC CRIME:
At 3:32 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling at 92 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone, in the W5300 block of State Highway 11, in the Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the operator, Koty M. Diaz, 31 of Janesville, being cited for Speeding, Operating After Revocation (due to alcohol), and Electronic Device Visible to Driver. Diaz was released pending court.
