2023 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on May 17, 2023

The following events occurred on May 16, 2023:

All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

PROBATION VIOLATION:

 

At 10:45 a.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe to assist Probation and Parole agents. Investigation resulted in Royce J. Brauer, 20 of Monroe being arrested for a Probation Violation. Brauer was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

 

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH-PROPERTY DAMAGE:

 

At 5:48 p.m., Deputies responded to the N5000 block of State Highway 104, in the Town of Albany for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Matthew P. Thies, 40 of Albany, was traveling north bound on State Highway 104 and attempted to make a left turn. While turning Thies was struck by another northbound vehicle operated by Haoming Fang, 20 of Madison. Thies and Fang reported no injuries, were wearing their seatbelts, and no airbags had deployed. Thies’ vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Fang’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Investigation resulted in Fang being cited for Passing in a No Passing Zone. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

 

TRESPASSING/WARRANT ARREST:

 

On 05/17/23 at 12:59 a.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the W9400 block of Lewis Road, in the Town of Jordan for a trespassing complaint. Investigation resulted in Austin J. Penniston, 42 of Argyle being arrested for a Felony Warrant through the Department of Corrections. Penniston was also charged with Criminal Trespass to a Dwelling. Penniston was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
