The following events occurred on March 12, 2023:

OWI/MV CRASH-PROPERTY DAMAGE:
At 7:33 p.m., Deputies responded to the N9300 block of Legler Road, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by John E. Ellis, 35 of Fitchburg was traveling northbound when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then entered the ditch and rolled over coming to rest against a tree. Ellis reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Investigation resulted in Ellis being arrested for Operating Under the Influence (3rd Offense-Alcohol). Ellis was further cited for Operating After Revocation (due to alcohol), Failure to Install Ignition Interlock Device, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ellis was later released to a responsible party after posting bond. The Belleville Police Department assisted at the scene.
