Town of Cadiz – The Green County Sheriff’s Office responded to a semi-tractor trailer that overturned on State Hwy 11 east of County Hwy MM near Browntown at 12:26 PM.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Browntown Fire Department, South Wayne Fire Department, Green County EMS and Green County Highway Department.

Investigation determined that semi-tractor trailer was eastbound on State Hwy 11 when the driver lost control while negotiating a curve.  The semi unit left the roadway traveling down an embankment where it overturned.  The driver, Timothy L. Gonzales 35 of Cross Lanes, West Virginia sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by EMS to SSM Monroe Hospital.   His seatbelt was used and there was no airbag deployment.  Snow covered road conditions contributed to the crash.  

DELAYED RECOVERY

The semi unit was left at the crash location due to road conditions from the winter storm and safety of first responders along with towing and recovery crews.   The Sheriff’s Office along with Green County Highway has scheduled the recovery and removal of semi unit for Friday, February 17 at 9 AM.   During this time State Hwy 11 at the crash location will be closed to motor vehicle traffic for several hours.  

There will be a signed detour routing traffic when the highway is closed.  If traveling westbound on STH 11 from Monroe area the detour will be northbound on County Hwy M to westbound on County Hwy Y to southbound on County Hwy MM from Woodford returning to State Hwy 11.  If traveling eastbound on State Hwy 11 from South Wayne area the detour will be northbound on County Hwy MM to Woodford to eastbound County Hwy Y to southbound on County Hwy M returning to State Hwy 11.
