Motor Vehicle Crash with Injury –

At approximately 3:14 PM, Deputies and Green County EMS responded to the N5100 block of State Highway 69, Town of Washington, for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injury.

Investigation revealed the operator, Matthew W. Scott, 16, was traveling north and was attempting to go around a vehicle making a right turn. This caused a southbound vehicle that was in the vicinity to go into the westbound gravel shoulder of the roadway to avoid crashing into Matthew. The gravel was thrown into Matthew’s vehicle, shattering the glass on the driver’s side view mirror. The broken glass entered Matthew’s open driver’s side window, causing him to sustain minor injuries.

Matthew was evaluated by EMS for minor injuries and was not transported. Matthew reported wearing his seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene by Matthew.
