The following incidents occurred on Monday, January 10th, 2022:
OWI:
At approximately 1:08 AM, Deputies responded to the W900 block of State Highway 92, Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a vehicle in the ditch.
The driver was identified as Lucas R Mike, 29, of Baraboo, who reported attempting to turn around in the roadway and became stuck in the South ditch. After subsequent investigations Mike was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence 1st offense. Mike was further cited for Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration greater than .15 (1st offense), Operating without a Valid license, Operating after revocation/suspended registration, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mike was later released to a responsible party.
Mike’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Accident- Personal Injury:
At approximately 5:56 AM, Deputies responded to the area of County Highway C and Center Rd, Town of Washington for a report of a car vs tree accident.
After subsequent investigations Charles H Opel, 28, of Madison, reported traveling northbound on Center Rd when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the East ditch, and struck a tree. Opel reported wearing his seatbelt, reported injuries, and the airbags deployed inside of the vehicle.
Opel’s vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
Opel was cited for Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of a Crash.
