The following incident occurred on Sunday, September 5, 2021:
Motor Vehicle Crash / OWI Arrest:
At approximately 1:07 a.m., Deputies, Green County EMS #800, Green County EMS #801, and the Monroe Rural Fire Department, responded to the N3800 block of STH 69 in the Town of Monroe for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash. Investigation revealed that Anthany J. Hernandez, 20, Monroe, WI, was operating a motor vehicle and traveling northbound on STH 69. The vehicle then crossed the centerline and entered the southbound lane. Then vehicle then entered the west ditch where the vehicle collided with an embankment. The vehicle then went airborne and collided with a fence. The vehicle then entered private property and overturned multiple times. The vehicle then collided with two unoccupied vehicles that were parked on the private property. The vehicle then came to a rest on its side. The vehicle sustained severe damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Investigation determined that Hernandez was not wearing a seatbelt and he was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Hernandez was initially transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for serious injuries sustained in the crash. Hernandez was later transferred to St Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Investigation resulted in Hernandez being arrested for Operate While under the Influence (alcohol) 1st Offense. Hernandez was cited for Unsafe Lane Deviation, Failure to Keep Vehicle under Control, and for Possession of Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. Hernandez was released from police custody pending a mandatory court appearance.
The following incidents occurred on Monday, September 6, 2021:
OWI Arrest:
At approximately 12:36 p.m., the Green County Sheriff’s Office received a traffic complaint on a vehicle that was traveling westbound in the W1800 block of STH 59 in the Town of Albany. It was reported that the vehicle was swerving all over the roadway and was tailgating other vehicles. It was also reported that the driver of the vehicle was attempting to pass multiple vehicles and was yelling at other drivers. Deputies located the vehicle parked in the roadway in the W1900 block of STH 59. Deputies made contact with the driver, who was identified as Christopher A. Humphrey, 35, Browntown, WI.
Investigation resulted in Humphrey being arrested for Operate While under the Influence (drugs) – 2nd Offense and for Bail Jumping. Humphrey was cited for Operating while Suspended and Improper Parking on Roadway. Humphrey was incarcerated in the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance or the posting of bond.
Traffic Offense / Drug Paraphernalia:
At approximately 3:45 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for Speeding in the W7400 block of STH 11 in the Town of Cadiz. Investigation resulted in a passenger in the vehicle, Zacheary S. Maaske, 18, McConnell, IL, being cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle, an 18 year old Monroe woman, was cited for Speeding.
