2023 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on January 27, 2023

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following incident occurred on Thursday, January 26, 2023:

Motor Vehicle Crash with Injury – 

At approximately 5:59 AM, Deputies, the Monroe Police Department, the Monroe Rural Fire Department and Green County EMS, responded to the N3600 block of State Highway 69, Town of Monroe, for a two-vehicle crash with injury. 

Investigation determined a northbound vehicle being operated by Octavia R. Bishop, 37 of Columbus, Missouri, had attempted to brake due to slowing traffic in front of her. Octavia was unable to stop in time and collided with a vehicle in front of her that was being driven by Timothy K. Weiss, 57 of Monroe. 

Octavia reported wearing her seatbelt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by EMS for further evaluation. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. 

Timothy reported wearing his seatbelt and not being injured. There was no airbag deployment in his vehicle and it was driven from the scene. 

Motor Vehicle Crash with Injury – 

At approximately 8:52 AM, Deputies, Argyle First Response and Argyle EMS, responded to the N6500 block of Holstein Prairie Rd., Town of Adams, for a single vehicle crash with injury. 

Investigation determined the operator, Heather J. Jorenby, 35 of Blanchardville, was traveling south when she attempted to negotiate a downhill curve in the roadway. Heather lost control of her vehicle on the snow covered roadway, traveled down and embankment, struck and fence and came to a rest in a creek. 

Heather reported wearing her seatbelt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the crash. Heather was transported by EMS for further medical evaluation. The vehicle had airbag deployment and was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
