2021 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on August 08, 2021

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following incidents occurred on Saturday, August 7, 2021:

OWI Arrest:

At approximately 1:25 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for Operate Left of Center in the W1800 block of STH 11 in the Town of Spring Grove.  The traffic stop resulted in Candace N. Wiesenberg, 41, Brodhead, WI, being arrested for Operate While under the Influence (alcohol) 1st Offense.  Wiesenberg was cited for Operate Left of Center.  Wiesenberg was released pending a mandatory court appearance.  

OWI Arrest – 7th Offense:

At approximately 12:25 p.m., Deputies, Green County EMS, and the Browntown Fire Department, responded to the N2000 block of Allen Rd in the Town of Cadiz for a report of a single vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed that Carmen F. Ott, 68, Monroe, WI, was operating a moped and was traveling southbound on Allen Rd.  At this time, Ott lost control of the moped, which entered the ditch and crashed.  The moped sustained damage and was towed from the scene.  Ott sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and he was not wearing a helmet.  Ott was transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for injuries sustained in the crash.  

Ott was placed under arrest for Felony charges of Operate While under the Influence (alcohol) 7th Offense and Bail Jumping.  Ott was incarcerated in the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance.  

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At approximately 5:00 p.m., in the W6600 block of CTH Y in the Town of Jordan, while on routine patrol, a Deputy observed a single vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed that Kyle J. Black, 17, Monroe, WI, was traveling northbound on Rufenacht Rd and drove onto CTH Y.  Black’s vehicle then left the roadway and went down an embankment.  The vehicle then entered a cornfield and came to a rest.  Black was not injured in the crash and he reported that he was wearing his seatbelt.  The vehicle sustained damage and the airbags did not deploy.  The vehicle was towed from the scene. 

Black was cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle under Control.
