2025 Sheriff's Office Press Releases Posted on August 29, 2025

The following incidents occurred on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025:

*All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT- PERSONAL INJURY:

At approximately 4:31 PM, Deputies along with New Glarus EMS and New Glarus FD responded to the W6700 block of County Highway H, Town of New Glarus, for a single vehicle accident with injuries.

Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Davis D Dahnke, 19, of New Glarus, was westbound on County Highway H when he lost control of his vehicle. Davis’ vehicle entered the ditch on the North side of the road, and rolled, striking a fence. Davis reported injuries, reported wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags deployed within his vehicle. 

Davis’ vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

OWI:

At approximately 5:59 PM, Deputies responded to the W5700 block of County Highway C, Town of Washington, for a reported disturbance where the vehicle then departed.

Deputies located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop on it. As a result of the investigation, Joseph L Rossing, 71, of Argyle, was arrested for operating while under the influence. Joseph was further cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. Rossing was released to a responsible party.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT- PROPERTY DAMAGE:

At approximately 9:45 PM, Deputies responded to the W4200 block of Middle Juda Rd, Town of Jefferson, for a crash detection alert.

Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Emily N Jacques, 18, of Beloit was eastbound on Middle Juda Rd when she advised taking evasive action to avoid striking an animal in the roadway. Jacques lost control of the vehicle and entered a field on the North side of the road. Jacques and her passenger Ethan P.S. Jacques, 18, of Beloit both reported no injuries, both reported wearing their seatbelts, and the airbags deployed within the vehicle.

Jacques’ vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
