2025 Sheriff's Office Press Releases Posted on January 01, 2025

The following events occurred on December 31, 2024:

All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

 

Drug/Narcotic Violation

 

At 2:04 PM, Deputies responded to the W2900 block of Main St., in the Town of Jefferson, for a reported suspicious activity.  The investigation resulted in Derek L. Thompson, 34, of Juda, being placed under arrest for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Thompson was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. 

 

 

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

 

At 4:23 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 11 & Smock Valley Rd., in the Town of Monroe, for a two-vehicle crash with unknown injuries.  The investigation found that Mickey D. Rockey, 71, of Juda, was traveling westbound on STH 11 and began slowing down to turn onto Carnie Rd. when Michelle M. Winder, 26, of Monroe was traveling behind Rockey and did not see him slowing down.  Winder then collided with the rear of Rockey’s vehicle.  Rockey advised that he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.   Rockey’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Winder advised she was uninjured and was wearing her seatbelt.  Winder’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  

 

 

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

 

At 6:44 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH J & CTH A, in the Town of York, for a two-vehicle crash without injury.  The investigation found that Daniel J. Clark, 54, of New Glarus, was traveling southbound on CTH J when a vehicle driven by Peyton E. Gobeli, 18, of Madison, turned southbound on CTH J from CTH A ahead of him.  Clark reported that he was unable to slow down and struck Gobeli.   Clark and Gobeli advised they were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured.  Clark’s and Gobeli’s vehicles sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene.  Gobeli was later cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way and was released pending court.
