On Wednesday, February 21 at 8:22 AM the Green County Sheriff’s Office – Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a silo collapsed on a person in the N1500 block of Clarno Road, rural Monroe. Monroe Rural Fire Department, Green County EMS and deputies responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation determined a 50-year-old Green County man was in the process of taking the silo down when it partially collapsed, trapping him. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Green County Coroners Office.
Investigation by the Sheriff’s Office – Detective Bureau is ongoing and the name is being withheld at this time.
