After Chief Deputy Thomas Moczynski made the difficult decision to retire, the Green County Sheriff's Office conducted an internal promotional process for a new Chief Deputy. The Chief Deputy is the second in command at the Sheriff's Office.
Cody D. Kanable was appointed as the next Chief Deputy and began his new assignment on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Chief Deputy Kanable has served with the Green County Sheriff's Office since May 15, 2008. His law enforcement background includes experience as a Patrol Deputy, K-9 Handler, Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant and SWAT Team Commander.
We are grateful to Chief Deputy Moczynski for serving the citizens of Green County for over 9 years and looking forward to Chief Deputy Kanable taking on his new role. Please join me in congratulating Chief Deputy Kanable.
