The following events occurred on December 26, 2023:

All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH-PROPERTY DAMAGE:

At 6:08 a.m., Deputies responded to the 400 block of North Monroe Street, in the Village of Monticello, for the report of a crash with no injuries. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Jody K. Hilliard, 56 of Monticello, was traveling southbound on North Monroe Street, when she attempted to clean her front windshield. The vehicle then veered towards the side of the roadway and collided with an unoccupied and legally parked vehicle. Hilliard reported no injuries, was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Hilliard’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

The unoccupied vehicle sustained functional damage and remained at the scene. Investigation resulted in Hilliard being cited for Inattentive Driving. Hilliard was released pending court.
