All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

The following incident occurred on Sunday, August 20, 2023: 

OWI

At 2:43 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the N6000 blk of CTH F, Town of Mt. Pleasant,  Investigation resulted in the operator, Ryan A. Erickson, 28 of Monroe, being placed under arrest for OWI 2nd – Alcohol. Erickson was released pending court. 

Accident- PI

At 8:46 AM, Deputies responded to a report of two vehicle accident in the N2000 block of STH 69, Town of Clarno.  Investigation found that a vehicle operated by Nicholas J Bansley, 21 of Monroe, was traveling south on STH 69 when an unidentified vehicle pulled out in front of his vehicle.  Bansley attempted to avoid striking the vehicle.  A vehicle following Bansley, which was operated by Alexa R Marty, 23 of Monroe, struck the side of Bansley’s vehicle. 

Both advised that they were wearing their seatbelts and the airbags did deploy in their vehicles.  Marty was later transported by EMS for an injury sustained in the accident.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

OWI/Fleeing

At 6:38 PM,  Deputies attempted a traffic stop on vehicle in the N5800 block of STH 104, Albany Township, for a passenger unrestrained and hanging out of the vehicle.  Investigation resulted in Sebastian A. Pekol, 21 of Evansville, being arrested for OWI 1st, Knowingly fleeing an officer, and cited for speeding.  Pekol was transported to the Green County jail pending court.
