The following events occurred on August 13, 2023:

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH-INJURY:

At 10:19 a.m., Deputies along with Green County EMS and the Browntown Fire Department responded to the N2100 block of Steiner Road, in the Town of Clarno for a truck versus ATV crash. Investigation revealed that an ATV operated by Francesca Riley, 33 of Dumfries (UK) was traveling westbound on the Tri County Trail. Riley lost control and collided with a sign before entering the roadway and colliding with a vehicle traveling southbound. Riley was injured and was wearing a helmet and goggles. Riley was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The ATV sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene. The southbound vehicle was operated by Allen L. Walters, 69 of Monroe. Walters reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Walters’ vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

Investigation resulted in Riley being cited for Operating on the Trail Contrary to Official Signs and for Operating without a Valid ATV Safety Certificate. Riley was released pending court.
