The following events occurred on March 29, 2023:

OWI:
At 11:01 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the N5200 block of State Highway 69, in the Town of Washington. Investigation resulted in the operator, Mario M. Lopez, 28 of Freeport being arrested for Operating Under the Influence of a Restricted Controlled Substance (With Passenger Under 16), Possession of THC, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Lopez was further cited for Operating Without a Valid License and for Speeding. Lopez was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance or the posting of bond.
A passenger in the vehicle, Shantell M. Schlafer, 45 of Freeport was cited for Possession of THC and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Schlafer was released pending court.
